Facts about Andora
Andora (born 1958)
Growing up as Andreas Hoge in Berlin-East, the artist, pop art painter and cosmonaut assumed the pseudonym Andora during the course of his career. Accused of preparing to defect from the German Democratic Republic, he was expatriated to Berlin-West.
Andora painted selected everyday objects such as shoes, watches, champagne bottles.
He also painted exotic projects such as a Formula 1 racing car Zakspeed 871 and an AMG-Mercedes
he painted a rocket at the request of Russian space travel in 1992, which was then launched into space. So he is so far the only artist whose art orbits the earth in space.
